Four elements that support your brain.

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

Wouldn’t it be great if we could make our brains healthier and try to prevent neurological issues, especially memory disorders? Let’s give it a try in 2023!

Every month, I will focus on the 4 different elements to support your brain. The first week will be about nutrition, the second about exercise, the third about rest and the fourth about enhancing brain health. I hope you will find these updates useful and incorporate them, as possible, into your brain health program. Small changes, over time, can yield big results. This is the first Brain Health Initiative of the Nutritional Neurology Institute, Dr. Reeta’s way to make our community healthier. Let’s get started!

WEEK 1

How you FEED yourself today determines how you will FEEL and FUNCTION tomorrow.

  1. Start the New Year by eating something FRESH at each meal. This can be some chopped herbs sprinkled on top of your meal or mixed with olive oil for a dip or drizzle. Try some raw vegetables like carrots, radishes, cucumbers or cooked vegetables added to a meal and some fresh fruits for a dessert or snack.

  2. Did you know that vitamin C degrades quickly after the produce is picked from the plant and even more quickly if exposed to cold? So chilled and frozen foods lack this critical nutrient.

  3. We should all be trying to eat 5-6 cups of fresh vegetables and fruits daily but very few of us manage this. If we work on the premise that something is better than nothing, start small and work your way up.
